When I was opening my company for graphic design, I encountered some stuff I did not want to deal with. One of those is accounting services. In my country, if You open a company You must hire an accounting company. The problem with that particular task was that I had no idea what to look for.

How do I find a good accountant? What do I ask to find out if they are good? I could waste A LOT of time studying accounting to be able to do better research (almost did it). I realized the answer fast and did not like it. The answer is: You cannot know. If you are not an economist, you truly cannot know.
I realized that the initial meeting with the accountant was crucial. It's the impression that the person leaves on you that matters the most. I chose an accountant who felt professional, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. I didn't go for the cheapest or the most expensive option; instead, I chose someone I felt comfortable communicating with.
That last one is probably the most important. Sooner or later some issue will pop up and you will have less painful if not painless experience talking and solving it with a person that you can talk to easily.

Similarly, when people come to us for logo and brand design, they don't always know how to evaluate our skills. They wonder if we have the creativity and expertise to provide the desired results. However, it's not reasonable to expect them to become experts in logo design to evaluate our work.
That is a pure waste of time, the best way to spend their time is not to deal with accounting and design. They should spend it doing what they are best at and what brings the most money.
Therefore, I suggest being open and honest during the first conversation with your accountant or designer. Get to know them and choose the one that feels like the best fit. It's essential to find someone who can communicate well, even in challenging situations. That way, you can save time and focus on what you do best while leaving the accounting or design work to the experts.
